Color Pops
Where whites and greys took center stage in years past, 2020 is seeing a resurgence in color - especially as an accent. Traditional neutral appliances are being swapped out for vibrant ranges and refrigerators, while kitchen islands and doors are getting a fresh coat of bright paint for a whimsical take on this function-heavy space. As long as you balance your color choices with a neutral base, it’s sure to make a gorgeous impact.

LED Lighting
More energy efficient than traditional lighting options, LEDs are taking center stage in kitchen trends this year. Especially prominent in the form of chandeliers and pendants, these gorgeous fixtures make a major visual impact. Plus, one of the greatest features about them is their integrated bulbs - you literally never have to change a bulb again. And considering the wide range of shapes and styles on the market, you simply can’t go wrong incorporating one into your design.
Metal Range Hoods
The shift towards embracing the metallic look on range hoods is here, and we are loving it. Now, before you think this is a one-size-fits-all look, remember that there is a ton of variety when it comes to metal finishes and hood silhouettes. Whether you’re drawn to a bright brass, like to mix and match a few finishes together, or prefer a sleek stainless steel or matte black, choosing a metal range hood means you’ve got a recipe for a whole lot of personality and flair in your kitchen.
Multi-Light Pendants
When it comes to lighting, a major trend for 2020 is the cluster or multi-light pendant. From a simple set of three to a fixture with eight or more suspended globes, this type of lighting adds a dose of visual interest that we’re entirely on board with. From an array of varying heights to a collection of different sized globes, your kitchen is sure to get an infusion of character and charm with this fixture style.
Smart Appliances
Technology is making its way into the kitchen this year in a big way. More than ever, we’re seeing smart appliances crop up, and from ranges and refrigerators to dishwashers and small appliances (think convection ovens, for example), we are definitely into this trend. Of course, you can always stick to the traditional appliances for all your kitchen needs, but if you can control it with the push of a button from your smartphone or personalize it via a touch screen, why not do it? We’re all living in a tech world, and we may as well make our cooking time a little easier in the process!
